In Loving Memory of Cody Wayne Hendren

March is Suicide Awareness Month at Battle High School in memory of Cody Hendren, who died Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was an incredible addition to Battle in its first year. Many of us will always remember him as a good student, friend, brother, and son, but he was so much more than that. He was amazing in every definition of the word.

This Friday, March 13^th at 4:15 p.m. we held a memorial service in the Performing Arts Center at Battle High School. During the weeks leading up to the service we sold yellow bracelets that stated, "We Stand Together." All of the money generated by bracelet sales went to construction of a bench that was dedicated in Cody's honor. The bench will be placed outside the PAC at Battle High School.

Cody's life was tragically ended, but it mattered beyond measure. The message his family and friends would like to share is that suicide is a permanent solution to life's temporary problems. Suicide is NEVER the answer.
